Of course, these goals need to be somewhat realistic or you're going to be disappointed and discouraged. However, these goals can serve a purpose that is two fold. They can help motivate you to achieve more, which will ultimately show results on the bottom line of your business/website. And secondly, they help you understand what is working and what isn't in terms of traffic, sales or whatever you have chosen to be a goal. Great stuff your doing here, best of luck! It's not enough to say "My goal is to get more traffic to the website". It's much more effective to say "I want to increase my traffic by X uniques per month and set conversion goals to X percent of those uniques." Specific goals are always more attainable than over-generalized ones. One thing I see some freelancers doing is not making specific goals for their online business.
