STOP!! You Don’t Need to Submit Your Site to Search Engines!
You probably landed on this page for one of 2 reasons:
- (1) You are mad because we’re telling people that they don’t need to submit their website to search engines. You are here to vent your anger by commenting on this topic at the bottom of the page. You can’t believe we are telling people not to submit their website, and we’re breaking a very important traffic rule!
- (2) You want to know why we’re saying that you don’t need to submit your website to SE’s like Google and Yahoo, and you want to take advantage of this free information. You want to find out how to get website traffic without actually paying for those web submission services or without having to do your own manual web submission.
OR
If you are from the first group, go ahead and scroll down to the bottom of the page. There is a form where you can leave a comment. Tell us how wrong we are and how mad you are that we’re giving the wrong advice to folks about search engine submission.
If you belong to the latter, keep reading. We’ll tell you exactly why there is no need for you to submit your website to 10,000 search engines, like some search engine submission companies promise. First of all, don’t pay for any so-called “professional web submisson services” in the first place. These web submission companies are making money off of you for something you don’t need to pay for… really. Like we said in the title, there is no need to submit your website to search engines!
So what do you do instead? Well, go ahead and spend your time on other activities. What other things does your website need at this moment? Do you need a website makeover? Do you need to setup an affiliate program? Do you need to update your product inventory? Do you need to take a break for additional planning? The bottom line is, do something else. Don’t concentrate your effort submitting your site to search engines or paying others to submit your website to those engines. You’re wasting your time and money on those web submission companies.
Specifically, here’s the important thing you need to: get other websites to link or point back to your website. The main search engines (Google, Yahoo, MSN, AltaVista, Alltheweb) are crawling other sites all the time, and they’ll pick your site up quickly if you get those incoming links. There are simple ways to get incoming links. There are some who offer to review your website for free, which will ultimately result in a link back to your website. There are forums where you can leave a link to your website in your member signature. The list goes on.
Of course, we can continue talking about how to get sites to link to your website. But you get the point. We might cover that in a later topic (if we haven’t already done so in the past)…
By the way, did we scare or rattle you a bit? You probably knew this information already, anyway. We made it sound very controversial though, didn’t we? Well… gotcha!
Cheers!
