JOB OFFER – Editor or Analyst for a Digital Publication

Position Description: Zeus Development Corporation, a seventeen-year-old Houston-based information clearinghouse and consultancy, is seeking a highly motivated Editor/Analyst to grow the firm’s digital technology publication, Zeus Technology Magazine (www.zeustechmag.com), and data services.

The monthly magazine’s audience is comprised primarily of major and independent oil exploration and production companies, oilfield service companies, IT systems equipment and professional service firms. The Editor will identify topics and develop and edit content focused on digital exploration and production solutions. He or she may recruit, groom and manage freelance writers and columnists.

The Editor will be expected to present papers and give speeches at domestic and international industry conferences and forums.

Applicant qualification: Applicants with strong experience in writing and managing periodicals with digital technology focus will be given highest priority. Experience within the oil and gas industry is also a plus. A bachelor’s degree in a business, technology or journalism related field at an accredited university is required. The Editor should have natural business acumen, the ability to understand technical concepts, employ effective and efficient writing skills and be capable of managing multiple tasks to meet tight deadlines. He or she must communicate effectively and professionally in an entrepreneurial office environment.

As the editor of Zeus Technology Magazine and related data services, the successful recruit will in effect be the product manager for Zeus’ digital technology services with profit and loss responsibilities.

Compensation: Overall compensation is comprised of four elements: base salary, performance bonuses, corporate profit sharing and benefits. Base salary is dependent on the candidate’s experience and education levels. Benefits include health, dental, retirement and short-term disability.
