Be careful with this position! The pay scale is generally much lower than advertised, and several people have had trouble actually getting paid. It might be okay if you are completely strapped for cash, but otherwise you will be putting in a lot of time for very little pay.
Complaints abound online about this position because it is challenging. If you’re ready to commit to it – the job is exactly as advertised. Don’t believe the rumors written by people who can’t hack it.
Hello,
I think I might just be perfect for this position!
I have a BS in Business, a JD, and studied in the MBA program at Pepperdine University on a full scholarship.
I work as the Office Manager of my husband’s CPA firm, but I am looking for something to help me bring in some extra money on a part-time basis.
I have experience in the investment industry as well and previously held a Series #7 license with the NASD.
Perhaps you can tell me more about the pay scale and duties?
Thank you,
Arla
This job was a fantastic find for me. The work is really hard at first, but gets easier over time. The hours are very flexible. I have never had a problem getting paid and have always been treated with respect by all my contacts at the company. I would absolutely recommend this position to anyone to supplement their income or as a part-time job.
i used to be an associate editor with CallStreet. i enjoyed this work and would like to pick it up again. it was great contracting work!
does anyone have the current contact there? thanks!
You need to type really fast and be well-versed with industry terms otherwise you have to google each word, one by one. You can’t really pick an industry because it’s sort of random. Then you have to google all proper names one by one. You are given 3 hours to complete a one hour call, 1.5 hours to complete a 30 minute call. If you do not finish it in time and make errors (like punctuation or missed the names that needed to be verified or formatting) you get deductions off the base pay.
The base pay is assuming you did everything perfectly, and that the next editor agrees, in three hours or less.
Also, the audio quality affects your final performance and one bad call can wipe out all your other decent calls. Not completing in time and having mistakes or parts you didn’t understand to begin with results in 25% of the advertised pay.
I think someone with a J.D. or M.B.A. can and should find something better.
