An online community and resource site for freelancers & work-at-home folks

It’s that time of the year again when goals and resolutions are made. We’re not talking about that usual stuff like “losing weight” and stuff like that (you know what we mean). We’re dealing here with your online business. Have you set any goals for 2008 for your business ventures on the internet?

Among all the other goals you may have, don’t forget to add this one important thing: getting more traffic for your website. Traffic, whether you like it or not, plays a very important part in making money online. It is difficult, if not impossible, to make money in the internet without website traffic. If no one visits your website, how can you make money? If no one knows you’re even online, how can you make money?

Some folks have even created these formulas to sum it all up:

traffic = money
visitors = money
no traffic = no visitors = no money

That’s true to some extent, because getting traffic alone does not guarantee that people will buy your products or services. There are other factors that play a role, such as your sales pitches, web design, and ease of navigation, among many others. But the point is, if you have no visitors to your website, then you have no chance of selling anything.

Below are some ways to get more traffic to your website:

    - Blogs
    - Videos
    - Social Bookmarking
    - RSS Feeds
    - Paid Links
    - Articles
    - Forums

So if you haven’t added traffic as your business goal for 2008, you should do it now!
